What if... My Teacher WAS an App

The Wall Street Journal published this article at the end of last year.

My Teacher is an App

It looks at the increasing trend, in America, for high schooling to be delivered entirely on line.

  1. Can't see it as a successful model at all! You are probably surprised to hear me say? To me that's not the power of eLearning. Sure it makes sense for lots of material to be delivered digitally, including content and for the online world to be used to enhance learning conversations BUT, schools/teachers still have a major part to play in providing/supporting both learning communities and the context where knowledge gaining and creation can happen.

    1. Not surprised at all. The teacher is key.
As Susanne Gannon wrote "The most effective teachers are committed to their students as people and as learners and they are incorporating all sorts of technologies into the teaching and learning activities that they design for their students and they are opening spaces where students can surprise them with what they can do with technology."
      Wish I had said that
